The MAUMS Summer Math Combine is here! This week-long online program requires students to use mathematical reasoning to solve fun, multi-step problems. The program is set up for motivated incoming 7th graders, allowing them to extend their learning and skills from their 6th grade math courses into a higher level of thinking.
The Combine is completely free and optional. However, students who participate and demonstrate proficiency will be considered for advanced placement in math classes for the coming school year. Recognition will be given to all who participate!
Teachers facilitating the Combine will be available for support and guidance, while encouraging students to construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others.
The Combine will take place during two separate week-long sessions, August 3 – 7 and August 10 - 14. Incoming seventh graders who are interested in this opportunity should email Mrs. Kipp at [email protected] or Mr. Carmichael at [email protected] by Thursday, July 30th.
