Dear MAUMS Families,
Beginning Monday, March 15th, 6th graders at MAUMS will attend school for in-person instruction four (4) days a week. 6th grade students choosing in-person instruction for Trimester 3 will be attending school on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Families may choose to continue remote learning for their student(s). There will be no hybrid option with two (2) days a week of in person instruction for 6th graders during Trimester 3.
This change in options is the result of the State of Vermont reducing physical distancing expectations for students in grades K-6 from six (6) feet to three (3) feet. The physical distancing expectations for students in grades 7-12 remains six (6) feet. Seventh and eighth graders at MAUMS will continue to follow a hybrid schedule with two (2) days of in person instruction per week.
Some students in 7th and 8th grade have returned to four (4) days of in person instruction by identifying a specific educational need and available space in the building.
We recognize the change in attendance expectations may impact individual families differently. Our goal is to provide in person instruction to more students as safely as possible . If you have questions, please contact us directly at (802) 447-7541.
Respectfully,
Tim Payne
Principal
