Project Alert lessons
Whether you are in 6th, 7th or 8th grade at some point during the year you will meet
me since I will join your core class teacher to provide you with several Project Alert lessons. Project Alert is an evidence based education program (that means it is a program that is researched a lot and proven to work) to teach middle school students about Substance (read: drug) Abuse Prevention https://www.projectalert.com/
It is a fun program which includes brief video’s, short assignments e.g. to create awareness about the risk of vaping, smoking regular cigarettes, the use of other tobacco products, marijuana and alcohol. Meanwhile it includes information about the risks of other drugs and prescription medicines. At the same time you'll get to practice role plays to learn how to respond to PEER-PRESSURE. Remember: No one can tell you to use drugs: YOU are ultimately responsible for making the decision NOT to use or to use drugs/substances.
